The Art of Storage: Why Your Bag Loses Shape (and How to Fix It)

Have you ever pulled a bag out of the closet after a few months, only to find it slumped over and wrinkled? Improper storage is the #1 killer of handbag value.

The Storage Commandments:

  • Stuff It: When not in use, always stuff your bag with acid-free tissue paper or a bag pillow. This maintains the structure. Avoid using newspaper, as the ink can transfer to the lining.
  • Dust Bags are Friends: Always store your bag in the breathable cotton dust bag it came with. Avoid plastic bags, which trap moisture and cause mold (especially in humid climates).

Never Hang It: Hanging a bag by its straps for long periods stretches the handles and distorts the leather. Always store bags sitting upright on a shelf.
